BIOGRAPHY

Ida Chloë—Lou Olsen (b. 1990) is a Norwegian artist, analog film photographer, and poet whose work moves in the quiet space between image, memory, and lived experience. Born in Stjørdal and now based in Oslo, she works with film, text, and the body as extensions of each other — ways of holding what is fleeting, tender, or transforming.

Her photographs and writings trace the intimate passages of a life: childhood and its echoes, the shaping of identity, the gravity of home, and the conversation between the self and the land. Through self-portraiture and performative presence, she folds herself into forests, fields, doorways, and thresholds, touching the world as if listening for its reply.

Olsen’s work has been exhibited internationally — including Brick Lane Gallery (2023), Galleri Kyo (solo exhibition Cloudland, 2020), and Free Range (2018) — and published in Black Flower Publishing, Nowhere Diary, SOLA Journal, Black River, Closure Magazine, and Fisheye Magazine, among others. She holds a first-class BA in Photography from the University of Westminster, London.

Her practice is a devotion to the everyday — to the small moments that turn luminous when met with presence. She photographs to remember, writes to understand, and seeks the quiet life moving beneath the surface of all things.
